Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy

Welcome Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy's Yolasite!

Alberto Montrond, an accomplished tae kwon do competitor and instructor with more than 30 years of experience, currently serves as the President and owner of Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy in Natick, Massachusetts. For almost two decade, Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy has provided high quality educational services in the ancient Korean martial art of tae kwon do. The academy, which offers specialized programming for people of all ages and skill levels, features a well-respected children’s program that teaches young students valuable habits and life skills.

By using innovative and engaging teaching methods, Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy successfully overcomes the potentially short attention spans of children to provide a fun and constructive experience. Although tae kwon do qualifies as a martial art, Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy promotes non-violent conflict resolution and encourages children to understand and defuse conflict when it arises. In the same vein, children learn valuable skills such as confidence, respect, and self-discipline, which enable them to interact with the world around them in a positive manner. Instructors at Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy believe in the importance of positive reinforcement when instructing children and are never hesitant to offer words of praise and encouragement.

In addition to helping children to succeed in tae kwon do, Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy also stresses the importance of academic achievement by restricting rank ascension until students receive a good report card. In many cases, the concentration and perseverance learned at Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy prove useful in reinforcing study habits and classroom behavior. In addition to instruction, students at the Academy also enjoy the opportunity to meet martial arts stars and participate in activities such as birthday parties, summer fun camps, and movie nights.

Before joining Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy, Alberto Montrond spent nine years as the Team Manager of the Cape Verdean tae kwon do team that appeared at the Olympics and the International French Open. Alberto Montrond also experienced considerable success during his competitive career, earning the title of Grand Champion in the 79kg division of the 1992 U.S. Open International Championship and qualifying for the Olympic trials in South Africa in 1999.
